Leave it all behind

Ever been so weak in body and spirit and all you can do is tell God, “All I need is You Lord…?”, coz you can hardly figure out what’s happening in the atmosphere and within your surroundings, when almost everything seems so confusing and mixed up and you wonder when things will FINALLY get better or be good? Lately I’ve had such, moments where I’ve felt so wrecked, inside out, things not going how I expected them to, but the joy of the Lord has been my strength. I have seen it work and it’s still at work in me.

How many times have we thought to ourselves that what we desire and want so bad (that we would do ANYTHING to get it) is what’s best for us? How many times have you and I found ourselves ignoring the little red (or not so attractive) signs along the way but still go ahead with what we think and feel is right for us only for it to tear us apart in the end? Despite this, I love the fact that God, unlike us men/women, has GREAT, really GREAT patience with us and never turns His back on us during such times (some of which I believe some of them are meant to draw us closer to Him, for us to trust Him more, and at this point is where I’m reminded that His ways, thoughts and plans are much better and worth than mine, even when I don’t understand HOW).

I’ve found myself tempted, during trying times, to look for help elsewhere, especially when I see as if He’s taking forever to answer, and trust me, it never works, instead of running to God and sticking there (even when it takes much longer than expected) as He’s the only one who’s got lasting and reliable solutions to every puzzle I am battling with. It’s gets tricky when you feel like your faith is fading away, yes, and you find it’s getting pretty hard to keep on believing even when you want to and should, but God deeply understands, He does, and when we gather the little strength we’ve left to trace our way back to Him, bruised and limping and hurting, He clothes us with new courage and more strength to overcome the tough times. He says He’ll always be there for us, never to leave nor forsake us. His grace is sufficient and His love, O His love, is for always, never ending.

As the Year comes to an end, don’t allow yourself to carry burdens and anything else that has been laying you down (for the longest) into the new year, but cast every one of them then down at the feet of the Cross. I understand that some stuff are inevitable, yes, and are in front of our faces like every single day, demanding our attention, but He wants it all. Give it all away to Him and don’t take it back by worrying and doubting and asking WHEN, Lord. Trust Him to take care of it coz His timing is the best. Sometimes I honestly want to trust in His perfect timing, and I think of the phrase in 2 Peter 3:8 that says “Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like one day”, and I’m like, “Father God, how I’m I supposed to understand that?”, but He queits and tells me to lay IT ALL down and trust Him; Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Let us choose, every hour, every minute, every second, to Rejoice, for a new beginning is come. Isaiah 43:18-19, “Do not remember the former things, Or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert”, meaning that even that situation that is unexplainable coz of the way it looks murky and you’re hardly seeing a possible way out, He still has the power to turn it around and make it work for your good. He is ABLE!

I know there is/will be Sermons here and there with varied messages but all talking about The New Year, The Next Dimension (btw that’s the message our Rev. Julian Kyula will be speaking on, on the 31st of Dec at the KICC), The New Beginnings, but one of the things I want to keep on remembering and holding onto is that God’s got my back and is leading my every step, and so I will not fear. I’ll keep declaring Psalm 91 especially V5-7 daily. No one knows how tomorrow (the future) is gonna unfold, but we’re sure of who holds it, and He wants us to trust Him with it. It says “You will not be afraid of the terror of night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Nor of the destruction (sudden death) that lays waste at noon. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand, But danger will not come near you”. With that assurance, we have no reason to fret not be anxious about anything whatsoever.

Let us walk into the unknown with courage and boldness, for we’ve been commanded to be so in Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” And in everything you do, no matter how small it might seem in your eyes, commit it to the Lord and He shall make thy paths straight. Let Him lead you, allow Him to have the last Word, involve Him in your decision making (Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]”).

May we not be stubborn, but let the Lord have His perfect way in our lives.

Have a Blessed and Wonder-full Festive Season! Cheers!! :-)
